BPM v9 SR1 - Problem with TODO, Watch lists

Hi everyone,

I am new to BPM v9, working on SR1. I made a simple process that leads a user action to a user stage. The role assigned to the stage is 'Everybody'. Then I log onto Metastorm web client using sysadmin. When I start the process from Metastorm web client, I can't see it in my TODO list. In SQL database, I can see an entry into eFolder table but no entry into eAlert table, which is why I think I cant see anything in TODO list.

I have also used roles 'Originator' and 'Metastorm Administrator'. Its strange bcz on v9 it was working fine. Anything I am missing?? please help.

Operating system : Windows server 2003 service pack 2

Thanks

Rauf

That sounds like a problem. Please contact Metastorm Support. If you specified Everybody as the role, it definitely should be on your To do list.

Re: BPM v9 SR1 - Problem with TODO, Watch lists

It is very likely that your Alert generation has become disabled somehow.

1) when upgrading to SR1 did you run the eWorkProcedures.sql to update the stored procedures?

2) go into the web admin utility (http://localhost/metastormadministration) and open up the Metastorm Repository tab.  Select Metastorm Repository link on the left hand side, and you should see the settings.  If you expand the Advanced tab, you should see a checkbox for Alert Generation.  Make sure this is checked and hit the Save button, then try your process again to see if the Alerts are working.

Re: BPM v9 SR1 - Problem with TODO, Watch lists

Hi, I checked both 'Alert Generation' and 'Delete Generation' from Web Admin tool (strangely, they were not checked before). Now their values are updated in eServer table. eWorkProcedures.sql have been run when I upgraded to SR1.

The results are still the same. After kicking off process from Blank Forms section, I cant see anything in ToDO and Watch lists. However, there are entries in eFolder and eEvent tables but no entry in eAlert table.

Thanks

Re: BPM v9 SR1 - Problem with TODO, Watch lists

Is this a new setup?  Does the user have the appropriate roles in the eAssignment table?  Each user should have at least the following in the eRoleName column of the eAssignment table: "Everyone" and "Username" (So the eUsername would match in the eRoleName and eUsername column of the table.

If the user you are logging is as is missing these roles it will affect your ToDo and Watch list.

Did you re-start the Engine service after updating the Alert settings?

Re: BPM v9 SR1 - Problem with TODO, Watch lists

Hi,

Thanks for sending me the process which works as expected in my environment.  No issues with To Do or Watch lists.

Maybe try uninstalling and reinstalling the software after checking that all the pre-requisites are in place?
