Metastorm Knowledge Exchange 6.2 SR 1 has been released. Be sure to read the entire set of product documentation, including the release notes. In this article I have highlighted the key enhancements and resolved issues.

Enhancements

Import Modeling Languages

Modeling languages that have been checked into Metastorm Knowledge Exchange can be checked out directly to Metastorm ProVision. This will improve access and control of common modeling languages across the organization.

CIF Web Services Import

For Service Release 1, users and external applications can now import modeling information into a Knowledge Exchange repository using CIF Web Services. An entire notebook, a user- specified subset of a notebook, or individual objects can be imported using a CIF format file.

Property Availability

The set of object properties available in the Knowledge Exchange browser has been expanded. Viewers now have access to more object property tabs which are available in Metastorm ProVision.

The following table lists issues resolved in this release of Metastorm ProVision.

SR-10082008-0012	Simulation – Delay time is off by one minute and omitted from Activity State Grids.
SR-08032009-0008	Publishing – When publishing a business class model to MS Word using the “Use Object Templates” option, attributes that have associations do not publish.
SR-07142009-0014, SR-08062009-0015, SR-02112010-0006	After closing and reopening BIM models, objects are moved to different regions and are shifting after changes are made to the region boundary.
SR-06022009-0014	After editing an object, the property grid resizes and the description grid reverts to its regular size.
SR-05212009-0008	During model Interpretation, the attribute length does not interpret.
SR-05042009-0002	When publishing context models with the Advanced Option selected, the cursor returns to the beginning of the publishing list.
SR-03122009-0006, SR-07242009-0005	Print Preview does not refresh when changes are made through the Page Layout button.
SR-03102010-0010	Publishing a selected Publish List to Word with a generated glossary cannot be disabled on subsequent publications of the same list.
SR-03082010-0025	Creating a State in a State Model when the same State exists for another Business Class produces an error message stating that the State already exists. This error is displayed when adding a single State at a time through the "Add or Select States" option. The work-around is to either create States using "Power Add" on the State Model or to create States under the States tab of the Business Class Details window.

SR-02252010-0006	Translator – Importing the Excel file back into the same Workflow Model creates duplicate objects, links, and activity aliases.
SR-02242009-0012	Custom report fails if custom property that is a date type is empty.
SR-02232010-0003	Navigator Model – Dimensions are not visible for drill-down when selecting a Capability Model.
SR-02232010-0002	HTML published output does not include the ability to drill-down through the Inclusion link to the Workflow Model.
SR-02052010-0018	Production link is not defined in the online help.
SR-01282009-0015	Custom property date field removes or shows blank upon check-in and checkout.
SR-01112010-0009	Gallery View – After creating a new repository and viewing the gallery, there are two Start Event items.
--	Teamwork Multi-user Repository – Swim lanes do not exclude properly and stay included in the model.
--	Object Details Style dialog – Selecting the option “Set for this object in all models” and then checking in to Knowledge Exchange and Teamwork, causes the styles to either revert or take on different styles.
--	Merging models from two notebooks through the Repository Explorer produces a series of error messages so that the resulting notebook contains duplicate models/objects.
--	Attempting to open the Parent/Child link detail dialog in a Navigator Model (with Service and Service Operation objects) causes unexpected program termination.
--	HTML Help - Document whether artifacts can be published to HTML.
--	Translator – Custom properties are updated when importing Activities and their custom properties (previously defined in ProVision and exported).

Known Issues

This section describes known issues that have been identified in this release. The list described in the following table, however, is not all-inclusive. For each issue listed, a Support Case ID is specified (if assigned). These IDs enable Metastorm to monitor the status of issues while solutions are being developed.

SR-08122009-0006	DES – Log files are unreliable, resulting in a simulation author’s inability to identify the source of a problem and possibly depend on these unreliable results.
SR-06172009-0008	Workflow Model glyphs in the Model Inventory display activity glyphs or workflow link glyphs instead of showing the model glyph.
SR-03112010-0021	DDL Exporting – Increase the character limit from 27 to 50.
SR-03092010-0038	Custom Reporting – Missing process in data source after viewing report.
SR-01122010-0007	Customization – Framework Panel does not allow for more than 13 subcategories to be displayed in Explorer.
--	Changing from EA to BPMN and back to the EA Modeling Language causes Sources and Sinks, Workflow Lanes, Decision Points and Junctions to display improperly.
--	Visio Exchange – Links are missing or are connected to the wrong object.
--	Publish to MSWord with certain customized template files results in error message “ProVision - Cannot edit Range.”
--	Intrinsic links will not connect to a custom object that is a legal type for only its end object.
--	Crystal reports ModelImageValue field is not displaying.
