I did install SR1 in Windows XP(after downloading SR1 from metastorm site) but was not able to use process activator because some webservice was missing.
So I tried to use the add/remove program of windows to add additional features for deployment. The installed asked for a MSI package, I cannot find a msi package instead I have a exe file for upgrade in SR1.
Can anyone provide me the msi file so that I can continue with the installation.

Hi,
The Process Activator is dependent on the ProcessMetaData Web Service. This installed as a sub component of the Metastorm BPM Engine.
Now the ProcessMetaData Web Service was not on the 9.0 release so the SR1 update does not specifically install it. You need to go to Add/Remove Programs, find the Metastorm BPM SR1 entry and select "Change".
Hit Next:
Select Modify:
Drill into the Engine and select the ProcessMetaData component and then continue with the install.
Note once you have installed it, there is an additional DB Script that will need to be run against your Metastorm BPM Repository. It is with the other engine DB scripts in "C:\Program Files\Metastorm\BPM\Engine\Database" and is called "ProcessMetadataProcedures.sql" for MSSQL or "ProcessMetadataPackage.sql" and "ProcessMetadataProcedures.sql" for for Oracle.

Thanks for your reply, I am doing the same thing but when I click the next button as in the 3rd screenshot, I am asked for a MSI installer. My problem is that I have a .exe in the package but not an msi. Hence I am not able to continue with the installation after this stage.

Hi,
Are you doing this as the same user that installed Metastorm BPM?
What OS are you using?
You might want to reach out directly to the Metastorm Support team for some assistance on modifying the install.

Instead of changing the installation, I got a copy of processmetadata.asmx and hosted it on IIS. Now I am able to use process activator.
For anyone facing this problem, download the attachment, unzip it and and put it in IIS in virtual directory. You can name the VD as "Metastorm.Common.Processmetadataservice".
Can't find attachment button, sorry....

It's probably looking for the 9.0 msi for some reason. Try pointing it to this rather than the SR1 install
